Software provider ECi Solutions has been acquired by private equity firm Apax Partners.

Following the transaction, ECi will be combined with the Macola, JobBOSS and MAX businesses of Exact Software, which is part of the Apax portfolio.

ECi said the Apax Funds investment will accelerate the group’s cloud-based initiatives and is expected to create a diversified SMB-focused business offering end-to-end solutions.

The current ECi senior management team, including CEO Ron Books, will continue to lead the combined company, which will remain as ECi Software Solutions, and at its current headquarters in Fort Worth, Texas.

The software firm’s current owners are affiliates of The Carlyle Group and Level Equity. Carlyle will retain a minority ownership.

Books commented: “Adding in Exact’s Macola, JobBOSS and MAX businesses gives ECi an even broader and deeper product suite to fit the ever-changing needs of manufacturers.”

The transaction – for which financial details were not disclosed – is expected to be completed by the end of Q3 2017. (OPI)
